The 2021 edition of the Videoformes media exhibition has invited S_Z to curate a space in the city of Clermont-Ferrand. This collaboration with Japanese artists Tomoko Konoike and Eiko Soga looks at distinct means to engage in an exploration of both Ainu culture and Hokkaido nature. Both artists are there on the ground, encountering myths and tales as well as indigenous practices and traditions that are in turn represented through a poetic dreamscape in the art of Tomoko Konoike, and an anthropological, diary-like questioning and revealing in the work of Eiko Soga.
